The feathery plumes in this beautiful North Ridge Plume Agate made me think of golden yellow aspen trees blowing in an autumn breeze. The stone is set in a fine silver bezel and accented with a knotty tree limb with detailed hand sawn aspen leaves.
The pendant measures 2" wide and 1-1/4" long. It is suspended from a sterling silver chain in the length of your choice.
North Ridge Plume Agate is mined in the Owyhee Mountains of Eastern Oregon in the Graveyard Point area.
All metal is sterling silver (except the fine silver bezel) that has been oxidized, tumble polished and sealed with a protective coating.

Prudent Man Plume Agate comes from a relatively new mine located in the Alder Creek Mining district near Mackay, Idaho discovered and owned by Steve Howard, who sadly passed away in 2019.
The Prudent Man deposit produces many beautiful plume agate patterns in colorful earthy shades. The name Prudent Man is a tongue-in-cheek reference to an old 1874 mining law called the Prudent Man clause, which states that claims are only valid if "in the judgment of the mine inspector a prudent man could make a living by working it." Steve Howard jokingly asserted that the government declared him an unprudent man.

Aventurine is a variety of translucent quartz with abundant small inclusions. Light entering the quartz strikes these inclusions and reflects from them. This produces a sparkly appearance known as "aventurescence." The green inclusions in the stone are fuchsite, a green, chromium-rich mica similar to muscovite. It is mined in India, the Amazon jungle, corners of Russia, and the mountains of Brazil and Chile.
