This charming turquoise heart pendant was inspired by traditional Mexican Milagro Folk Art. Milagros are small metal religious charms carried for protection and good luck. Milagro, translated as “little miracles”, these charms have been used for centuries in churches for the faithful to request miracles. The flaming heart is a popular symbol for expressing love and passion. A small Kingman Water Web turquoise heart stone is set in a fine silver bezel with a beaded border with a "flame" rising above.
The pendant measures 1-7/8" tall (including top loop) by 1-1/8" wide. It hangs from a sterling silver chain in your choice of length.
All metal is sterling silver (except fine silver bezel) that has been oxidized, tumble polished and sealed with a protective coating.
Kingman Turquoise comes from The Mineral Park Mine, in the Cerbat Mountains northwest of Kingman, Arizona. First mined by Native Americans centuries before white men came to the area, it is one of the three sites of prehistoric mining localities in the state of Arizona.

Laguna Agate is a variety of banded Chalcedony, a mineral of the Quartz family. Though predominantly scarlet, its layers may contain shades of deep red, milky white, yellow, gold and brown. The name Agate comes from the Achetes River in Sicily, where Agates were first found. Usually banded in layers, or stripes, some varieties have “eye” markings, or specks of color, some have fossilized inclusions, and others are solid. Called the earth rainbow, the concentric bands of Agate form in nearly every color the earth can produce, including a colorless form.
