FAQs

Can you stamp on both the front and back?

Stamping leaves a slight impression on the opposite side which prevents stamping on both sides.  As an offered alternative, two pieces can be stamped and soldered together to form a two-sided pendant for an additional charge. Please email me prior to placing your order (atwistofwhimsy@comcast.net) for information.

Can I make a change or substitution on a piece of jewelry?

If you see something you like but want to make changes, I am always happy to customize it for you. Any pieces that are shown in copper can also be requested in brass for the same price, and many can be created in sterling silver for an additional cost. You can request a different bead color, add charms or a bead dangle, change chains, and more on many of my pieces. Email me at atwistofwhimsy@comcast.net to inquire about any changes before you purchase.

When will my order ship?

Please allow 3-5 days for made to order pieces. If you need it faster, please email me prior to placing your order (atwistofwhimsy@comcast.net) to find out if I can accommodate your time frame.

Do you make custom jewelry?

Yes. Please email your request to me at atwistofwhimsy@comcast.net. If it is something I can do, I will give you a quote and time frame.

How do I care for my handcrafted jewelry?

Because each piece is made individually by hand and not mass-manufactured, handcrafted jewelry can be more fragile. It is recommended that you avoid strenuous activities while wearing your jewelry. Although each copper, brass and sterling silver piece has been given a protective coating to resist tarnishing, they will eventually tarnish. This does not indicate a defect in the material but is a chemical reaction with sulfur or hydrogen sulfide in the air.  There are additional steps you can take to help reduce the tarnishing process. Wearing your jewelry often helps prevent tarnish build up. It is recommended that you store your jewelry out of the open air in an air tight container to avoid the effects of humidity. I store mine in a multi-compartment hanging organizer with zippers to close each section which works great. Do not wear your jewelry while exercising, bathing or swimming as the moisture and chemicals will reduce the effect of the protective coating. To quickly remove light tarnish, use a jewelry polishing cloth that is specifically designed for cleaning metal jewelry. Occasionally after wearing, wash with warm water and mild soap to remove buildup of makeup, skin oils, etc. Make sure it is thoroughly dry, and polish with a polishing cloth before storing.

If I'm not happy, can it be returned?

Yes, I want you to be totally satisfied, so if you are not happy with your purchase, you may return any piece (except custom and personalized jewelry) in its original (unworn) condition within 15 days of the delivery date for a full refund of the item's price minus shipping fees. I will promptly refund your money once I receive the item. Refunds will not be issued for items lost or damaged during the return process so carefully package your item to avoid damage. It is advisable that you also request delivery confirmation as well as insurance. Return shipping charges are your responsibility. I'm sorry, but I do not accept returns on custom or personalized jewelry unless there is an issue with the craftmanship.
